Opportunity for Vitamin and Mineral Growth in Philippines
Local and multinational enterprises sell vitamins and supplements in the Philippines. USANA has a 29.5% market share for UHS Essential Health Philippines Inc. MX3 has a 7.3% market share for DMI Medical Supply Co. Most of the top 20 brands have less than 3% market share, so new enterprises can gain a footing. This is an opportunity for U.S. and European brands.
Cardiovascular diseases, pneumonia, cancer, TB, diabetes, and other respiratory problems force Filipinos to change their diets.
People’s Points of View
Filipinos take vitamins and nutraceuticals for three reasons: to improve and strengthen their immune systems, to relieve stress and improve sleep, and to strengthen their skin, hair, and nails.
According to a Rakuten Insight survey conducted in March 2022, 59 percent of respondents stated that they did not take dietary supplements, while 82 percent stated that they took dietary supplements or nutraceuticals to improve and strengthen their immune system. Other common reasons for taking dietary supplements included stress relief and improved sleep.

Supermarkets and online stores were also among the top retail channels for Filipinos who purchased health supplements.Pharmacy chains are experiencing rapid growth, in provinces and smaller local neighbourhoods/villages.
